What is stud welding ?

Stud welding is common to use to connect chromium carbide plate with other parts. The basic principle is that wear plate is clamped by stud welding torch, one end of the stud is contacted with the surface of the plate, start the power with arc starting, welding the stud under certain pressure after the contact surface is melted.

Stud welding does not damage sealing or reduce the performance of work-piece. The thickness of the work-piece should not be less than a certain value in order to ensure full connection and no defect such as burn-through or significant deformation.

And, chromium carbide wear plate that designed with stud welding can make installation easier on site.
