3 measurements to evaluate the chromium carbide overlay plate quality

1.Joint strength between wear resistant hardfacing layer and base plate
Hardfacing wire and base plate differ greatly in chemical composition, so it is hard but important to guarantee the joint strength, if joint strength is not good, then hardfacing layer will peel off. Commonly, we use rolling radius to evaluate joint strength, the smaller rolling radius the greater  joint strength, typical would be in the area of 100 to 150mm
2.Overlay wear plate flatness, we have the following three aspects of requirements on flatness:
(a)whole sheet flatness: steel plate has serious deformation because of a large amount of heat release during welding, so appropriate welding process is very important
(b)Surface flatness: the flatness of each weld beads and weld joint is also very important, large gap can affect wear plate service lifetime, resulting in waste of materials
(c)fusion-line flatness between hardfacing layer and base plate
